Adam Grasso

Technologist

For Adam, architecture is about continuous learning – from other disciplines on the project team, about new technology and software to streamline the process, and from the wonders of the natural world. Adam was drawn to architecture for the way the initial design concept is taken from paper to reality. Most interesting to him is when the design concept reflects concepts found in nature that inherently attract and inspire the human spirit. In his role as a technologist, Adam helps take the original idea and create concrete designs through drafting and 3D modelling. He also works closely with the other disciplines to ensure all elements of the building will work effectively together.

“Doing everything the same way doesn’t always save you time. Learning new ways of producing construction drawings and 3D modelling with BIM can be more effective and efficient in the long run. It’s also important to trust the expertise of everyone on the team to help the project move forward cohesively,” he says.

These days, Adam lends his skills to multi-unit residential, places of worship, industrial, and institutional buildings. In his personal life, Adam enjoys snowboarding and playing guitar, hockey, and soccer.

“I’m inspired creatively when I learn more about the intrinsic beauty and constancy found in the world that God created and how we can learn to mimic and complement it with buildings and biophilic architecture.”

Notable Projects

“Parkwood is a project I’ve really enjoyed working on, being able to create a model for SPA and working on construction drawings. The building’s use of terraces, canopies and outdoor amenity spaces help make it feel connected to the neighborhood around it.”
