Daniel Rosati

Designer

For Daniel Rosati, architecture is the marriage of aesthetic form and functionality. Growing up in a family of skilled tradesmen provided Daniel with the opportunity to engage in building and architecture with a hands-on approach at an early age. His studies and travels influenced his passion and understanding of the principles of human-centred design – such as proportion, scale, geometry, materiality, and visual composition. In considering these principles, he assists both project teams and Martin Simmons Sweers’ clients with materializing architectural ideas into functional and unique design solutions. At Martin Simmons Sweers, Daniel is primarily involved in the schematic design and design development phases. This often involves the initial engagement with a site or building at a conceptual level to determine what is possible and appropriate from an architectural standpoint. Through collaboration with the client, consultants, and other members of the Martin Simmons Sweers team, he contributes to the development of projects both technically and aesthetically as they progress through the approvals process and subsequently into construction documentation. He uses expertise gathered from working on a wide variety of project types to provide tailored and proven solutions to the challenges that arise over the course of project design.

“There’s a real sense of pride and thrill to see a sketch on paper materialize into a physical space or building.”

Notable Projects

“I’ve particularly enjoyed working on the Old Post Office because of the unique challenge it presented in designing a contemporary addition which would be both complementary and sympathetic to the existing building. I enjoyed being involved in the process of simultaneously considering old and new from both an aesthetic and technical point-of-view.”
