The site plan has been developed as a response to the irregular nature of the property and the belief that a courtyard design best galvanizes a campus approach where the population is arriving from a large demographic area. As a response, the ‘L’ shaped building form has been located on the site to meet three principal objectives. First, the school fronts onto Essa Road, providing a welcoming south/west oriented façade and vehicular access for visitors and the larger community. The second principle arranges the large programme elements of the school to the east backing onto the playing field, outdoor teaching areas, and loading corridor. The playing field will act as a buffer from the inevitable future development of the neighbouring farmland. The third principle of the plan creates a west facing campus courtyard directly connected to the driveway and bus drop off that creates a setting for the administrative, academic, daycare, and learning corridor.
